It's a Silver Start for Sophie and Don Cara at the Dressage World Championships!

It’s quite a party already for Sophie and her team at the 2022 Dressage World Championships in Herning, Denmark. Not only is Sophie competing Don Cara in the Grade V but her student Georgia Wilson (left in photo) is competing Sakura in the Grade II. And if that wasn’t enough, student and friend Erin Orford (right in photo) is also in Herning as the official FEI TV commentator for the Para Dressage! Go ladies!

Sophie’s ‘coach’ championships started with an excellent 5th position finish for Georgia in the Grade II Individual on Wednesday. Sophie and Don Cara then took the stage on Thursday for a fantastic Silver medal in the Grade V Individual against long term rival Michele George. Here’s what Sophie had to say…

“We finally got to dance in the arena for the first time last night so so proud of Don, he trusted me when he got a bit nervous and I’m so happy about some of the work we managed to do in the arena. Yes there was a big mistake, but horses aren’t robots and we will keep working on a mistake free test. But I’m so proud and happy of what we managed to do yesterday when we get it just right he feels just and it’s exciting how much more there is in there. Silver at the World Championships for Don Don. Thank you so so much to Rowland and Maria for owning such a beauty and being so supportive, lovely to have them out here! Also to Beth and Ange for being the best team.”

Sophie competes in the Team test on Saturday where Team GB hopes to continue its fantastic medal record. Sunday brings the competition to an exciting finale with the Individual Freestyles, we can’t wait!
